Soap Dish by Alice Tacheny
The form for this soap dish was inspired from a visit to 101 Spring Street, the cast iron building that served as Donald Judd’s home and studio in Soho. The purpose was to make something elemental, hardworking, sculptural and wonderful to use. I wanted this piece to feel like it’s always been there, holding your favorite bar soap next to your sink.
The dimensions are 5.12” long, 3.75” wide and 1.12” tall. There are little cork pads on the bottom to protect the surface of your counter. The surface is sealed with a food grade sealant.
The type of soap you use might alter the appearance of the surface over a long period of use, which is completely normal. You can safely clean the soap dish with a nail brush or old toothbrush.
