Vilda Chair by Gemla
Design by Jonas Bohlin, 2011-2012
Solid bent beech or ash treated with hardwax oil. Stain or lacquer in various colours. At Helge River in Diö, in the heart of the old forests of Småland, lies Sweden's oldest furniture factory. Its inner sanctum, beech and ash are tamed into timeless furniture by skilled craftspeople.
All wood is sourced from European well-kept and certified sources.
The wood is treated in hard wax oil, stain or lacquer.
The oil and stain brings out the natural character of the wood, while the lacquer gives a smooth one-color surface.
All leather is vegetable tanned from Swedish cattle, each with a unique appearance.
Natural marks, such as mosquito bites and color variations is a part of the naturally tanned leather and a certificate of a product of nature.
Soft upholstery leather is used for all padded seats, and hard tooling leather for beckrests and flat unpadded seats.
Due to the difference in the tanning process, there is a variation in color and structure between upholstery leather and tooling leather.
