The streamlined design of Modernica's Case Study outdoor furniture showcases rich materials without sacrificing durability or longevity.  Each frame is composed of solid Africa teak and is meticulously constructed in our woodshop. They are oiled for further protection and to bring out the wood’s warm and supple grain. For the top, choose from solid teak slats or a handsome 3/4" white Carrara marble slab. Maintenance is minimal, oil as desired or allow the wood to patina on its own.  Modernica also offers form-fitting Aqualon covers for added protection.

Made in California.

Caring for your African Teak:

Oiling your furniture will prolong the dark, rich look. If you choose to oil your furniture as an option, teak oil should be applied before the furniture begins to weather and change color. First, you must make sure that the furniture is dry and free of any dust or dirt. Second, apply one light coat of oil with a clean cloth or brush, wiping off any surplus. Teak oil should not be applied over accumulated oil or dirt as the result will be dark, and the furniture will eventually blacken.

Marks from spills on a tabletop, especially if they contain fat, can be difficult to remove. Marks will eventually be washed and bleached out by the elements. Most stains can be removed with a light sand-paper.

Caring for your Stone Top:

All Modernica stone tops have been treated with a water-based, penetrating sealer. This water-base formula penetrates into the stone to provide a protective barrier which preserves and protects the stone from stains caused by food, oil, and water. Penetrating sealer does not change the natural characteristics of the stone. Modernica recommends that all stone surfaces be treated with sealer twice a year. The sealer application is simple. Spray it on, rub it in and it's done.
