Rattan is often compared to bamboo, but unlike bamboo which is hollow, rattan is a solid material. Teddy is Viggo Boesen's interpretation of the popular ear flap chair from the mid-19th century. The chair was named Teddy because of the design that resembles a teddy bear hug.
