Occasional Low Table by Vitra
Design by Jasper Morrison, 2016
The understated design and carefully crafted proportions of the Occasional Low Tables allow them to be integrated into a wide variety of interior settings. They exemplify Jasper Morrison‘s philosophy of ‚super normal‘ design, which he applies to revise, improve and reinterpret existing furniture typologies. The Occasional Low Tables not only provide a decorative accent with the corresponding forms of their circular tops and pedestals: the die-cast aluminum base plates, characterized by elegant lines and harmonious radial dimensions, can be slid underneath low sofa frames – like that of Jasper Morrison‘s Soft Modular Sofa. These features make the Occasional Low Tables indispensable, practical companions for daily living.
The small tables with a stable metal base come in three heights – from the level of a low occasional table to a standard sideboard – and with refined, beveled-edge table tops in aluminum or high-quality solid wood. The powder-coated metal surfaces are robust and easy to clean.
The Occasional Low Tables are related to the height-adjustable Rise Table, which was also designed by Jasper Morrison.
