Floatation is a suspension light made from Japanese paper shades and provides ambient illumination. Three handmade shades are suspended by thin metal cables and a red iron ring provides accent as well as acts as counterweight for height adjustment. The paper of Floatation is crinkled and this is an intended design attribute. The material can react to fluctuations in humidity and can change the rigidity of the shades.
Floatation is offered in three diameters, and can be ordered in standard 78" maximum height or with special height for a maximum height of 177". It uses incandescent lamping, which can be dimmed with suitable dimmer. Floatation is not recommended for use in areas of high humidity.
