The rug appears to partially cover another, but its smooth surface remains seamlessly intact, preventing any tripping.
Level is a stylish, simplified version of Lena Bergström's Basket Rug, offering a more straightforward geometric design. Available in two standard sizes - 2x3 meters and 2.5x3.5 meters - Level can also be custom made in almost any size imaginable. Made with love and craftsmanship, it is produced from hand-tufted Indian wool, expertly cut by hand to achieve the desired effect.
“Level is a mat on top of a mat, yet it creates an illusion,” says Lena Bergström. “The hand-tufting of the two layers in different directions enhances both the depth and the tactile experience. Level can be added to any space to give it that perfect finishing touch.”
The illusion is further enriched by a carefully crafted, pointillistic mix of wool strands in varying colors, giving Level its unique depth and vibrancy. The family-owned small manufacturing firm in India that produces Level has invested in sustainable practices. All water is contained, filtered, and reused on-site, with discarded materials disposed of responsibly. The heating for the coloring process is sourced locally in an environmentally sound manner. Situated in a predominantly Muslim area, the factory also empowers young women to master the craft and achieve economic independence. The hand-tufting process results in a product that withstands wear and tear.
