Silk Lantern Floor Lamp by Gubi
he Silk Lantern by Ejner Larsen and Aksel Bender Madsen is a refined lighting family in silk, wood, and steel. Designed in 1951 but never put into production, it brings together Japanese-inspired lightness and Danish modern clarity in a soft, atmospheric glow. Conceived across floor, pendant, and wall versions, each design carries the cylindrical shade and material logic through its own scale. The 100% natural silk shade diffuses the light into an intimate gradient of brightness and shadow, while FSC®-certified walnut veneer rings (FSC® C176589) frame the textile from above and below, and the lacquered steel structure gives the lamp definition and a floating appearance. Brought into production by GUBI for the very first time, the Silk Lantern brings a rarely seen Larsen and Bender Madsen design into contemporary interiors.
