Drachmann Chair by Skagerak by Fritz Hansen
Launched in 1982, Drachmann is Skagerak’s longest-living outdoor series – and it’s still going strong. Inspired by the Danish poet and painter Holger Drachmann, the design strikes a timeless balance between Nordic nostalgia and modern simplicity. Beautiful on its own, perhaps against a south-facing wall, and convenient as a comfortable seat at the table. Durable in all kinds of weather, the chair ages with grace, taking on a silver-grey patina.
To celebrate the Drachmann Bench’s 40th anniversary, we have upgraded its cushions with colourful stripes to add a new expression to the classic bench. Drachmann cushions are custom-made to fit the collection and highly weather-resistant. The upholstery fabrics are Oeko-Tex certified, colour and lightfast, water and dirt-repellent and even mildew-resistant. The cushion dries exceptionally quickly, even after a heavy downpour, as the foam has an open-cell structure that allows water and air to pass through. The foam provides a firm and comfortable texture that remains the same year after year.
