Belladonna is an exclusive wicker sofa, designed by Franco Albini and Franca Helg in 1951. The wicker sofa is part of Sika-Design's ICONS collection which represents designer furniture by renowned designers. With great respect and admiration for the original designs and in close collaboration with the descendants of these well-known furniture designers, we are happy to bring these icons back.
The Italian duo Franco Albini and Franca Helg were renowned architects and had their heyday in the 1950s, producing a wide range of renowned furniture designs as well as architectural works and properties. The aesthetics are clearly seen in the iconic Belladonna sofa, whose construction gives a majestic aura as the seat is lifted on a pedestal.
Belladonna Sofa is suitable for the ordinary home, conservatory and cottage. The wicker sofa is handmade from sustainable Indonesian rattan by skilled wicker makers. Sika-Design uses carefully selected rattan for furniture production to ensure the highest quality. Rattan is often compared to bamboo, but unlike bamboo which is hollow, rattan is a solid material. Rattan is a remarkably strong and indestructible material, and you therefore get a unique piece of design furniture that can last for generations.
